Happenstance Cafe

Ohayoooo, having FINALLY synced the pictures on my phone with my lappy, I can finally share my brother's and my experience (with Ruffles) at one of the few dog-friendly cafes in Singapore! Being that all responsible owners who love their pets would want the best for their fur kids, my brother and I decided to take the little one out as he has never left our area of residence before unlike our older Shihtzu, Kiki. (Unfortunately, it is better that we do not bring her out anymore due to her age and spinal injury.)

Upon settling down, we proceeded to ordering our respective mains and a food bowl for Ruffles.

pasta, meat, vegetables, eggs, they have it all!

After about 30 minutes and me getting a little impatient, our food finally arrived. The dude who was seated at the table beside us told us that he had to wait an hour for his dish to arrive, and another 30 minutes for his Poodle's. Apparently this is a normality at Happenstance given that the cafe is always-packed (true enough), inevitably leading to the high volume of orders. So I dug in anyway, while Ruffles still had to wait for his food.

THE FOOD WAS GREAT! It was certainly worth the half an hour's wait! Not more though, not more. (Ok, maybe it's just me.) Unfortunately, Ruffles was more impatient than I as his food had not arrived at that point and decided to ask for food from the lady beside him....

.... which he succeeded in getting because she was a nice lady

we had to put him on a restraining order eventually or he would have devoured that nice lady's dog's meal

his face when his food finally arrived

After finishing his meal, we let him run about to make friends. But Ruffles was too pussy to make friends so we just stuck around for a bit more and left for home. All in all, it was a good day but most importantly, Ruffles really enjoyed himself. Last but definitely not least, the food bowl we ordered for him was really healthy - all their ingredients were boiled with no added condiments - thus making it well-suited for pets!

Do make a reservation before actually heading there with your fur kid though, I cannot emphasize enough on how PACKED the place will be. When we got there, there were barely any seats available and if we did not make a reservation, we would have probably ended up waiting for hours. So, yes, please remember to make a reservation before heading over especially if you are planning to head over on a weekend like we did. Perhaps going on weekdays would have been a better choice, hmm.

So yup that was it, thank you Happenstance Cafe for the pleasant experience, we truly had a great bonding time with our little fur kid!
